Tracking Guitar with PODxt and tube amp combination setup

In my first production “My Introduction”, I had used the PodXt amp modeling device for most of my guitar tracking and some double-tracking using a Line 6 amp along with either an SM57 or MD421.

What I was curious about is, what would the results be if I tried this with a better interface from the first and with the second channel being a VOX tube amp setup with a Blue Baby Bottle.

In my latest video, I tried some preliminary tests, but what I have “heard” is the PodXt seems to mask some of the sonic details from the channel that is the tube amp. Still more experimenting to do, but my reason for this is using amp modeling plugins puts a strain on the processing.

Let us see if further testing and playing around making a positive difference.
